Description of Janteng Chromic catgut suture
- Janteng catgut suture thread is originally used animal originated suture twisted filament, absorbable brown color.
- Obtained from the thin intestine serous layer of a healthy bovine free of BSE and aphtose fever.
- Because it is an animal originated material the tissue reactivity is relatively moderated.
- Absorbed by fagositosis in approximately 70 days.
- The thread keeps its tensile strength between 14 and 21 days, the patients factors can make such tensile strength times vary.
- Color code: ochre label.
- Frequently used in tissues that have easy healing and that do not require permanent artificial support.
Characteristic of Janteng Chromic catgut suture
- High purity collagen between 97 and 98%
- Chroming process before twisting it.
- Uniform calibration and polishing (monofilament appearance).
- Sterilized by Gamma rays of Cobalt 60.
Benefits of Janteng Chromic catgut suture
- Minimum tissue reaction
- Uniform chroming along the thread length, providing a reliable tissue support during the absorption.
- Provides soft way through the tissues (minimizing tissue drag).
- Complete and reliable sterilization. Preserving the natural characteristics of collagen.
